Over the years, people have asked me about my favorite movies because they range from the original “Miracle on 34th Street” released in 1947 to the hit movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, “The Proposal”. So here are my top all time favorite movies:
Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
Oklahoma (1955)
Grease (1978)
Airplane (1980)
Beauty and the Beast (1991)
While You Were Sleeping (1995)
Spice World (1997)
American Beauty (1999)
Santa Clause 2 (2002)
The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003)
National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007)
The Proposal (2009)
Favorite. Musical. Ever.
Grease is the word. And Glee has done an entire episode of Grease songs!
I saw “Airplane” in the movie theater 7 times. I am serious…and don’t call me Shirley.
Belle is my favorite Disney Princess because she has brown hair and likes to read books!
One of my all-time favorite movies starring Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman, who now appears as President Gilchrist in one of our favorite new TV comedies “1600 Penn.”
I always wanted to be a Spice Girl – they recorded several hit songs, went on a world tour, filmed a movie and then retired with lots of money! Yo, I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want…
From the opening scene soaring above the suburbs with Kevin Spacey’s voice-over commentary to the traumatic end of the movie – American Beauty is a hard movie to watch and even a harder one to forget.
The scene where Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell’s characters are riding in a horse drawn carriage in falling snow is beautiful enough to make Santa Clause 2 one of my all-time favorite movies!
As the mother of two daughters who loved the Disney Channel’s TV series Lizzie McGuire, the feature film focuses on Lizzie’s trip to Rome with her middle school classmates and is one of our favorite movies to watch over and over again. Hey now, hey now, This is what dreams are made of…
My husband took all four of us to see this movie at the midnight premiere in 2007 – one of my favorite family memories. It’s a great movie, it incorporates history in a fast paced comedy/drama and both our girls loved it!
I saw The Proposal in the movie theater seven times during the first month it was released. Evidence enough that it is one of my favorite movies!
- Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011)
- Monte Carlo (2011)
- Date Night (2010)
- Grown Ups (2010)
- Sleepover (2004)
- Mean Girls (2004) / Freaky Friday (2003)
- Luck Of The Irish (2001)
- Halloweentown TV Movies on the Disney Channel (1998, 2001, 2004, 2006)
I didn’t list any of the movies I’ve seen this past year in this list, including my favorite movie of 2012, Argo. See my previous blog entries for my top movies of this last year.
Last night Glee did a special episode of songs from movies, including a mashup of “Old Time Rock & Roll/Danger Zone” as a tribute to Tom Cruise. It was a great performance!
By the way, we watched The Proposal on FX tonight and are watching Date Night now!

I am not real excellent with English but I find this very easygoing to interpret.
